Set in a future society where the government has complete control over the lives of its citizens, the story follows Winston Smith, a low-ranking member of the ruling Party, as he rebels against the oppressive regime and struggles to hold onto his own sense of individuality and truth. In the world of 1984, the Party, led by the mysterious figure known as Big Brother, controls every aspect of life through propaganda, surveillance, and censorship. The Party's ultimate goal is to achieve total control over the thoughts and actions of the population, and to this end, they have created a new language called Newspeak, which is designed to limit the range of thought and make it easier to control the population.
